Having completed his tenth and final season as Head Coach of the Hialeah High Baseball team, Richard Bielski has helped mold the T-Bred's into one of the most successful baseball programs in the state of Florida. With Bielsky as head coach, the T-Bred's have been District Champions in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2001. The T-Bred's reached the regional final in 1994, 1999, and were regional and state champions in 2001 and 2002. The 2001 state baseball title was the first in recent memory, the first dating back 32 years ago to 1969. Bielski end his coaching career with 2 state titles, 2 regional titles, 7 district titles and with friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
In 1993 and 2002, Bielski was named Coach of the year for Northern Miami-Dade County and coached the Florida Athletic Coaches Association South Squad State All-Star team in 1994. He will coach in the FACA State All-Star again in May, 2003. In 2001, Bielski was named "Coach-of-the-Year" for all male sports in Miami-Dade County by the Miami Herald. In ten years as the T-Bred coach, Bielski has tallied a 220-86 (.719) overall mark, averaging over 22 wins per year. His 2001 State Championship team set a school record for wins with 27.
With Bielski at the Hialeah helm, the T-Bred Baseball program has constantly moved upward. He stresses the importance of leadership, respect, strong academics and proper conduct. His goal is to help produce young men who are self confident, achievers who desire to better themselves through post-secondary education and the ability to make good decisions. This will enable them to become an asset to our society and to their present and future families. |
