Hialeah Senior High School has become a mandatory uniform school beginning with the 2008-2009 school year. All students are required to be in compliance with this policy at all times during every school day unless otherwise directed. The dress code was established to create a safe and disciplined learning environment.

SHIRTS
Color: Royal Blue (not Navy Blue), White , or Red
Style: Polo or Oxford (both with collar)

  • Shirts must be solid colors only.
  • All shirts must have a collar.
  • No oversized or knee-length shirts (All shirts must be appropriate size!).
  • T-shirts worn under the uniform shirt cannot be longer than the uniform shirt.
  • No tank tops or spaghetti strap shirts.
  • Stomach must be covered at all times (No mid-drift showing!).
  • School emblem is optional, although it is encouraged for students to wear it. (Emblems should be worn on the upper left-hand corner of the school uniform shirt!)

PANTS
Color: Khaki or Black
Style: Ankle-length pants, classic four-pocket Dockers style (not necessarily Dockers brand (name!)

  • No sweat pants, jeans, capri, cargo, baggy pants, or shorts of any length are allowed.
  • All pants must be appropriate size and must be worn at the waist.
  • No skirts of any length.
  • “Dickies” are allowed provided they only have four pockets.
In addition, the following guidelines must be observed:
  • Clothing that is disruptive and offensive is not permitted.
  • Uniforms may not be altered in any way.
  • No clogs, sandals or other shoes without back straps. No metal cleats on school grounds.
  • No hats, bandanas, or any type of headgear will be permitted.
  • Electronic devices such as radios, CD players (i.e. MP3, iPods, PDA’s, etc.) are not allowed to be used during school hours. Additionally, cell phones are not to be turned on and should only be used before 7:30 and after 2:30.
